Service Opportunities

Sylvan Lake Bahá'í Centre is dependant on the involvement of many dedicated individuals. From volunteers to paid staff and from a one-day commitment to a long-term commitment, all are necessities for an effective Centre of Learning. We'd love to get you involved! Check out the opportunities for Volunteers, Summer Staff and Year-Round Staff.

If you are interested in being a summer camp counsellor, facilitator or volunteer, please contact us.

All SLBC staff are screened by the National Spiritual Assembly of the Bahá'ís of Canada before commencing their period of service. All SLBC staff working with children require criminal records checks and child welfare checks. SLBC can provide a letter for volunteers to waive the fees.

  • Can you create a Bahá'í atmosphere, deal with the challenging children, work with other counsellors, camp directors, and property staff?
  • Are you prepared for hard work and long hours?

Applicants must have either Ruhi 1 and 3 or Ruhi 1 and 5 completed.

Camp Directors

Directors are required for the adult, family and youth programs during the month of August. Directors welcome participants, coordinate program schedules and facilitate recreation activities.

Promoters Needed

The Sylvan Lake Program Committee is looking for friends in each community who could be SLBC promoters and help advertise events. The job is simple: to market events at this wonderful facility within our region. You would print off the posters and make them available at Bahá'í events.
